FROM OVERWHELMED DOG OWNER TO HELPING OTHERS ENJOY LIFE WITH THEIR DOGS AGAIN

I’ve been where you are. Feeling stuck and unsure how to help your dog. The dog you imagined having suddenly feels a million miles away. Maybe recall has disappeared, walks feel stressful, they’re pulling on the lead, jumping up, barking, or reacting to other dogs and people. You’re left wondering what you’re doing wrong.

You're not alone.

Hi, I'm Emily, and I run The Bridgnorth Dog Club in Shropshire.

It can feel exhausting, confusing and overwhelming.

Training dogs has always been a passion of mine, but it wasn’t until I got my dog Bonnie in 2021 that everything changed. She challenged me in ways I hadn’t experienced before. Recall was a struggle, distractions felt impossible, and walks became stressful because I didn’t know if I could trust her off lead to come back when called. The frustration and embarrassment were overwhelming, especially knowing my previous dogs hadn’t struggled in the same way.

So I started looking for answers. I learned how dogs really learn, what motivates them, and how to build behaviours that hold up in real life, not just at home. Step by step, everything changed. I still remember the moment I unclipped Bonnie’s lead and knew she would come back when I called. Walks became calm, enjoyable, and connected.

That journey made me wonder how many dog owners were stuck in a similar place. Not just with recall, but with lead pulling, jumping up, over-excitement, lack of focus, barking, or reactivity. It’s what inspired me to train and qualify as a professional dog trainer.

WHAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

I found the answers. And everything changed.

I started looking for answers. I learned how dogs really learn, what motivates them, and how to build behaviours that hold up in real life, not just at home.

When I work with clients, everything is centred around real life. Training at home in a quiet environment is one thing. But it’s out on walks, around other dogs, people, and distractions, where it really matters. That’s where I focus. So you feel confident handling your dog anywhere, not just in your back garden.

Support is a big part of what I offer too. Progress happens in the moments between sessions, when something new comes up or a challenge catches you off guard. I provide clear, simple guidance in a format that suits how you learn, so you always know what to do next. Everything is designed to fit into your life without overwhelming you.

My methods are positive, science-based, and built around trust. You don’t have to choose between a well-behaved dog and a strong bond. You can have both.

If you’re ready to go from frustrated and stuck to calm, confident, and actually enjoying life with your dog, I’d love to have a chat. Book a free consultation call below and let’s talk about where you are and how I can help.
